Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with Guidelines
All models get a multi-angle rearview camera, visible
on the 5-inch intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID). The camera can
show a view from above, 130 degrees or 180 degrees ¬ rear visibility when the
transmission is in Reverse. The camera is located just above the license plate

the 130 XM channels, 69 are commercial-free. If the audio system plays the XM
CR-V, the i-MID screen shows the current station, song title and artist name.
Pandora Internet Radio Compatibility
The CR-V is equipped with a wide range of

the USB port in the center console. The vehicle's audio source is set to iPod,

Front and rear stabilizer bars
All models are equipped with front and rear
stabilizer bars to reduce body roll when cornering. The diameter of the tubular
front anti-roll bar of 20 mm, and fixed to the rear anti-roll bar measures 19
mm.
Motion-Adaptive Electric Power Steering (EPS)
After the 2012 Civic, the new Honda CR-V is the
second place in the North American market for Motion-Adaptive Electric Power
Steering (EPS) for use. Standard on all 2012 Honda CR-V models, this advanced
system incorporates new technology driving stability control that the inputs
from the driver in the right direction during cornering and on slippery roads
request initiated.
Using the vehicle speed and steering angle data,
Motion Adaptive EPS works with Vehicle Stability Assist Honda (VSA ®) and
Electric Power Steering to detect instability in terms of grip and cornering
and under braking and automatically initiates steering directed to ask the
driver in the right direction. This new advanced technology supports the action
of the driver in the car safer and more comfortable.
Three examples of how Motion-Adaptive Electric Power
Steering (EPS) works in conjunction with VSA are:
Stabilizes Braking - Corrects the steering behavior
of the vehicle to reduce jitter when the driver brakes hard on surfaces with
different friction coefficients (eg, sidewalk, which is only partially covered
with dirt or snow)
Reduces understeer - Corrects the steering inputs to
mitigate understeer and helps the driver to trace the curve
Reduce Oversteer - Corrects the steering inputs to
mitigate oversteer and help the driver to trace the curve
With Motion Adaptive EPS, advanced electric
power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering replaces a conventional hydraulic
steering. EPS responds immediately to steering movements and automatically
changes the amount of power to increase the speed of the appropriate vehicle.
The Motion Adaptive EPS system is constituted by a
rack and pinion steering with an electric motor arranged concentrically around
the wheelhouse. In order to adjust the stand Powertrain control unit receives
signals from a speed sensor and, in combination with a rotation sensor for the
coupling of command and calculates the optimum amount of support and sends a signal
to the electric motor.
In comparison with the operation of a conventional
hydraulic power steering pump, however simple and lightweight motion adaptive
EPS increases efficiency because they are not constant amount of current
directly from the engine. Other advantages of the electric power steering
system are its simplicity and compactness (no hydraulic system is required to
power) and the lower power, reducing fuel consumption.
The steering ratio on all models CR-V is 16.7:1
(previously 15.7 in 2011), resulting in 3.2 turns lock-to-lock (previously 3.0
in 2011) and a diameter of turning circle of 37.0 meters (37.3 ft EX)
sidewalks-(ex 37.8 m in 2011). All CR-V 2012 has a tilt-and-telescope steering
wheel.
4 wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System
(ABS)
All CR-V models are equipped with 4 disc brakes
(front ventilated disc and rear solid disc) for reliable braking. The system
includes 4-channel ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and Brake
Assist as standard. A power amplifier brake has a solid feel with high rigidity
pedal. The ventilated front disc brakes are 11.7 inches in diameter and solid
rear discs are 12.0 inches in diameter.
The 4-channel ABS independently modulates braking
force at each wheel to help the driver maintain control during braking. EBD
automatically optimizes the braking force between the front and rear wheels,
contributes to the CR-V stops at the shortest distance, regardless of the
number of passengers or the amount of charge that wears. Brake Assist detects
emergency braking situations and almost instantly applies added braking force
if necessary.
For 2012, the CR-V wheel hubs receive improvements.
The rear hubs on all models are equipped with low friction seals of the
bearings, while the rear brakes AWD models also have a soft low resistance. The
improvements contribute to lower fuel consumption of the CR-V.
Hill Start Assist
New for 2012, Hill Start Assist helps prevent the
vehicle from rolling backwards when the driver switches from the brake to the
accelerator pedal when the vehicle is stopped on a hill. Hill Start Assist is
activated automatically when the car takes a certain slope and is completely
stopped in a forward or backward. The system utilizes a sensor with a
longitudinal G sensor wheel speed and the steering angle sensor control of the
hydraulic brake modulator. When activated, they put the brakes are released
when the driver presses the accelerator to move the vehicle.
Wheels and tires
CR-V EX and EX-L models come with 225/65R17
all-season tires with 17x6.5-inch aluminum wheels. The CR-V LX is equipped with
215/70R16 all-season tires with 16x6.5-inch steel wheels printed.
Space-saving spare wheel
The spare wheel is a space and unit weight savings

The 15.3 liter tank is molded in high density

Powertrain
The CR-V is the transmission works with the engine

The Traction Control Real Time system replaces the
previous-generation CR-V 4WD ™, a hydraulic drive system "dual-pump".
Compared to the previous system, the system electronically activated provides a
faster, more intuitive initial response when a loss of traction is detected. It
also reduces the weight of 17 percent and reduces to a minimum the internal
friction of 60 percent. Developments to help minimize the negative impact on
fuel consumption inherent in almost all four-wheel drive systems.

DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder
The 2012 CR-V is powered by a double overhead
camshaft (DOHC) all-aluminum, 2.4-liter four-cylinder 16-valve design and a
high volume characteristics of the intake manifold. The K24Z7 engine produces
185 hp at 7000 rpm and a torque is close to 163 pounds-ft. at 4400 rpm - with 5
hp and 2 lb-ft. torque than the previous generation. Despite the higher power,
the engine also offers top-EPA estimated fuel economy than its predecessor,
with an increase of over 10 percent on the highway than the 2011 model, both front-wheel
and four-wheel drive versions.
A large number of innovative features designed to
give a sophisticated combination of performance, fuel economy and low
emissions. The most obvious is the i-VTEC "intelligent" valve control
system, a technology that VTC (Variable Timing Control) combines - which
continuously adjusts camshaft phase - with Variable Valve Timing and Lift
Electronic Control (VTEC ) - changing the valves, timing, and duration. The
combination of these two systems of high power and torque - with low fuel
consumption and low exhaust emissions.
In line with its commitment to the environment,
Honda, CR-V engine meets the stringent California Air Resources Board (CARB)
Ultra Low Emission Vehicle-2 tailpipe emissions standards and Federal Tier 2
Bin 5 emissions standard.
Engine / Crankshaft design and low friction engine
The 2.4-liter engine uses a two-piece, die-cast
aluminum block and bearing cap that helps maximize strength and rigidity while
minimizing noise and vibration. The upper element is compact molten cast iron
cylinder liners for excellent durability and the lower element is constituted
by a single jet carrier motor shaft has an iron-carbon bearing cap inserts that
add to the overall structural stiffness. Each journal on the crankshaft forged
steel micro-polished to reduce internal friction and improve durability.
The CR-V 4-cylinder makes use of new technologies for
reduction of friction that have been designed to improve the engine. The outer
skirts of lightweight aluminum pistons will now feature a low-friction coating
applied in a single point-application pattern. The result is less overall
friction as the pistons move within the cylinder bores. New low voltage elastic
bands also reduce friction. Plateau honing further reduces the level of
friction between the pistons and cylinders creating an ultra-smooth surface.
Operation of sanding Plateau is 2 phases which includes two grinding processes
instead of the more conventional single honing process is used. This also
increases the long-term characteristics of engine wear. Low viscosity (0W-20)
is also used to reduce friction.
To improve the smoothness throughout the rpm range
and reduce the level of noise, the CR-V is equipped with a balancing unit
internal. Composed of a pair of chain-driven counter-rotating shafts in the
sump balancing helps to quell the vibrations inherent harmonic of second order
which normally impact in-line 4-cylinder.
Aluminum head
The i-VTEC engine uses a compact, lightweight and
cylinder head in pressure in aluminum alloy. The 4-valves per cylinder, double
overhead camshafts driven by a silent-type chain for precise control of the
security cam phasing. The cam actuating system is maintenance-free for the
entire duration of the engine. Each room has a relatively large
"squish" that promotes faster flame propagation of the race. This
results in a more complete combustion of the fuel-air mixture and subsequently,
low emissions.
i-VTEC valvetrain
The Honda CR-V uses an advanced valve control for
high performance combined with fuel efficiency and low emissions. These version
"intelligent" system combines variable timing control (VTC), which
continuously adjusts the phase of intake camshaft, with Variable Valve Timing
and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC), which valve lift, the timing and duration
of changes in intake valves. The combination of VTEC and VTC results in
excellent drivability, including more horsepower and torque at low revs, with
fuel consumption and significantly lower emissions.
The i-VTEC system on the 2.4-liter DOHC engine uses
two rocker arms with reduced friction roller for each pair of intake valves,
with a camshaft that suction lobes separated configured for both. Low and high
speed in order to optimize Depending on the engine load and rpm, an electronic
control unit determines which cam profile is used and how each intake will
work.
At low speeds, where the 'low lift and shorter
duration provide optimal operation, the timing of the two intake valves

fuel efficiency and reduced emissions of NOx. Operation of the VTC is
electronically controlled and is determined from the entrance from sensors that

on the conditions, VTC can vary the valve timing of the intake cam (change its
position relative to the crankshaft) of + / - 25 degrees. Activation VTC is
hydraulically via a valve which sends high pressure oil to the passages in the
pursuit of the crest of the march.
When idle, the timing is almost fully retarded to
minimize the valve overlap. In normal driving on-road use, the camshaft timing
of suction is advanced to provide overlap for EGR effect. With the throttle
wide open, timing begins in an advanced condition at low engine speeds and gradually
turns into a condition of delay when redline approaches. This allows optimum
cylinder washing and pumping efficiency and provides excellent power and torque
at all engine speeds.
Programmed injection (PGM-FI)
The electronic fuel injection CR-V (PGM-FI) is a
sequential multi-port fuel injection system that constantly adjusts the
precision of the supply of fuel to provide the best combination of power, low
fuel consumption and low emissions. More sensors constantly monitor critical
operating parameters, such as throttle position, intake air temperature,
coolant temperature, ambient air pressure, air intake, pressure in the intake
manifold, exhaust air ratio -combustible and the position of the motor and

of features which, together, help the CR-V-EPA estimates fuel economy
improvement. A new automatic transmission fluid (ATF) uses heat from the hot
coolant of the engine (which heats up more quickly after a cold start-up) to
help bring the ATF up to operating temperature more quickly. New lower
viscosity ATF is used. The response of the lock-up clutch is improved and the
number of clutch plates is reduced thanks to a new high-friction material.
Finally, the CR-V regulated gear revs at cruising speed.
Grade Logic Control
For gear "hunting" and unnecessary
shifting, Logic Control and Shift Hold Control systems can be integrated
decrease in programming shift automatic transmission. Grade Logic Control
